Overview
The Consulate General of Canada in Mumbai covers western India — Maharashtra, Gujarat and Goa — from the One International Center tower in Lower Parel, the financial heart of the country. In-person consular services are currently suspended: passport, citizenship and emergency assistance for Canadians in the region are routed through the High Commission in New Delhi, and the Mumbai post's continuing work centres on the Trade Commissioner Service and the corridor between Canadian business and Mumbai's finance, pharmaceutical, film and manufacturing economy. Indians in western India applying to Canada do not file at the counter here — visitor, study, work and permanent-residence applications run online through IRCC, with biometrics taken at VFS Global.
Visa Services
Visitor visas, study permits, work permits and permanent-residence applications for residents of western India are submitted online to Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC), with biometrics collected at VFS Global application centres rather than at the consulate. The consulate does not accept walk-in visa applications.
