Overview

The Embassy of the Kingdom of Belgium at Schönburgstraße 10 in Vienna's 4th district (Wieden) is Belgium's diplomatic mission to Austria, Slovakia, and Slovenia, and also serves as the Permanent Representation to the UN, IAEA, and other international organisations in Vienna. Ambassador Caroline Vermeulen (since August 2022) leads the mission. Belgium and Austria share strong ties as fellow EU founding members, and Vienna's role as host city for the OSCE and UN organisations gives the Belgian mission particular multilateral significance. The embassy's three regional trade agencies (Flanders Investment & Trade, Wallonia Export and Foreign Investment Agency, and hub.brussels) reflect Belgium's federal structure and provide specialised support for each region's business interests.

Accessible via U-Bahn U1 (Südtiroler Platz, 5 minutes walk) or tram line D (Plößlgasse stop). The embassy covers Austria, Slovakia, and Slovenia. A separate Belgian Permanent Mission to the OSCE is maintained at a different address in Vienna.
